For 24.95 a month, they can keep it. For the occasional slideshow maker, this program is not worth it. I would have gone for it if it was $89 a year or $7.50 a month. That was the cost of getting a producer upgrade but not 24.95 a month or $245.00 a year. I am sad.

The yearly susbscription is at the same level than the full ProShow Producer price . The difference is that you will have to pay 249.95 $ each year instead of 89.95 $ for the Photodex year updates. This product at this level of price has no future .... unfortunately. The worse is if you DO NOT want to continue to pay the subscription, you will loose the use of the software, you will have paid for nothing.
Since the stop of ProShow, I have turned to DaVinci Resolve which is totally free and gives real professionnal results with several image and audio tracks and superb effects far from the few add-ins that we find in Director.
However, I continue to use Producer for many shows which do no require specific effects.
Hope they will modify their pricing politics !!!

I will also pass as a home user and not upgrade again. Its sad they went down this path and really feel they will be losing a lot of loyal customers

When the information first came out about a new program I thought fantastic. Unfortunately I won't be getting involved with this one, it has for us older retired folk in other countries priced itself out of the market over $360 AUD for me. It would be expensive but doable as a one off payment, but every year for something I use infrequently is just out of my price range.
Pity

I agree with everyone who posted before me. The price is not good for someone learning or using these kinds of tools as a hobbyist or even as a freelancer. I am checking out the DaVinci Resolve 16, thanks for mentioning it. I may also upgrade from Version 8 to 9, but I feel like this may be useless.
