I went back and reduced the MP4 resolution and this resulted in the two file total coming down from 4,853,971 to 3,040,218. But when ProShow turns these into files to go on disk both are the same size of 4697mb. What am I doing wrong?
The 4697mb file size should fit on a standard dvd. I think the max size is 4.7mb. You can try making an iso file and then burning it with a 3rd party burning program like Imgburn.
I did make a copy that fitted the DVD with Wondershare Video Converter but their menu is poor. I like the ProShow menu better, but still has bits I don't like.
But, as a guidance, think also to the time of your show.
The capacity of your DVD is roughly one hour.
If your show is longer, you are running into 2 major problems:
1. fitting it on the DVD
2 The attention span of your viewers which may become bored with shows that long.
