Extracting files from a .pxc file

Postby rivendell » Fri Dec 09, 2016 10:58 am

I hope someone can help me. I have bought a template from someone in Russia, who has sent me the files in a .pxc file. I have tried everything and searched the internet but I cannot seem to get the files. It looks as though they are being extracted, but when it opens Proshow Producer there is nothing there. I wonder if anyone out there has encountered the same problem or can come up with any suggestions.
Than you.

There should also be a .pst file if this is a template. That is the file that PSP needs to open first.

Assuming the file(s) came in a zip or rar file, you should double check what else is in there.

Tell that someone in Russia, that the .pxc file is the only file that he/she should NEVER send.

Thank you for your help. I will try and get them to send it to me without the pxc bit and see if that helps.

The youtube videos are found by typing in Anna34 and her e-mail address is zabaraanna@mail.ru
She does some really good Proshow Producer slideshows.

Unfortunately not. As suggested by Mona I got back in touch with the lady in Russia and asked that she send it to me again, without the .pxc file, but I have not received a reply. I am quite a novice at PSP and don't understand .pxc files etc. or how to create styles or templates, so I have a lot to learn. However, I will keep trying and love Proshow Enthusiasts which no doubt will help me.

Can you provide a link to the youtube video which inspired you to request to buy the show from Anna34? I think there's a few of us that are curious about this whole thing :D

Hi, As requested please see below the link to the show that has been sent to me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W2xuls5X2U

Also, here is the files which were sent to me:-
https://yadi.sk/d/k78pI5mE32UrzD

The instruction was to 'unpack' the files - which I did, but no matter what I do I cannot get the files into my Proshow Producer - which is version 7.

However, I suspect that what is really happening is that I am slightly out of my depth and do not know how to do it.

I would appreciate any assistance.
Thank you.

Hi, I've tried that over and over again and there is nothing there. It is telling me that it is an empty slideshow.
Regards.

The file that Random has highlighted is a .psh file, so this is a show, not a template.

Open PSP7 and select File/Open. Navigate to the folder where you unzipped everything, then select that .psh file. It should start to open. If you get a window saying you have missing files, then you need to navigate to those folders for audio, images, and videos and start selecting them. It looks like there's a bunch of them too. For each file type PSP should automatically find the files as long as you "find" the first one yourself.

By the way, those files with extensions like bak, b01, b02, etc are just incremental backup files of the original psh file. You should not need to use themn as long as the psh file works for you.
