What a screw job - right up there with the rest of "take from the workers and give to anybody that will vote for me" that we are seeing these days.

It would appear the very, very stupid legislators and the equally stupid internet businesses (potential thieves) have not thought things through to the inevitable result. If artists find they can no longer profit from their work, they'll either stop creating it in favor of finding a different job, or they'll stop digitizing any of their work. Upshot? The aforementioned stupid businesses will end up with nothing to "share." For whatever reason, the politicians never reap what they've sewn.
