Underdogs

Postby BarbaraC » Sat Jun 08, 2013 4:49 am

A newsletter alerted me to some very amusing composite photos, and I figured several of you might enjoy them too:

Those are good :D

Reminds me - for those in here the states, next time you see the Allstate commercial on TV where the "fall guy" is the maid wandering around the house breaking things then he falls down the stairs, watch carefully. At the end, where he is laying on his back on the floor, pay attention to his hands that are opening and closing like he is in agony ... now try to rotate your hand so that the thumb and fingers are oriented the way they are in the commercial  Either his face is composited onto someone laying face DOWN on the floor, or his head has been rotated 180 degrees (in which case, he would not be talking to you). Took me a while to figure out what was bothering me about that image

That hand is definitely twisted the wrong way! A bit of ad-agency humor, no doubt. :D

Sort of reminds me of those scenes in Death Becomes Her, with Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep, where Streeps characters head gets twisted around, ironically, after falling down a staircase.

And the first time I saw that commercial I knew there was no way they would let an actor of his stature take that tumble down the stairs. Took me a while to realize they had to have composited his head onto a stunt mans body.

btw, as good as those dog photos are, they kind of creep me out to look at them. They have a better fashion sense than I do

Takes the notion of pets and their owners growing to resemble each other to a whole new level. But you're right. Those dogs are certainly sporting some snazzy duds.
