Using PSP in WIX Website
I have a wabsite on WIX at:
http://www.acerphotography.com
Unable to upload shows directly as a FLV as Proshow uses Flv 12 and WIX FLV 13.
The company unable to offer help and suggest that I settle for an upload via You Tube.
Anyone know of any other answer?
Whichever way I finally do it what is wanted is a show that encourages visitors to send photos to me for enhancing and making into shows.
Any advice, tutorials or tempaltes would be a help.
Impotrantly it is all for charity
Thank you in advance
Bill

Re: Using PSP in WIX Website
YouTube is probably the simplest solution. I did noticed the example birthday show you have links directly to YouTube. If you embed such links in your site, your visitors won't be sent somewhere else, and you'll also be able to control the size and setting of the video.

Thanks for you quick response Barbara, and for looking over the site,
Any advice re tutorials or templates to improve my opening page?
Do you know if any of the Proshow offerings might be suitable?

Bill, I can't really help when it comes to web page templates because I've never used them.
By suitable ProShow offerings, do you mean templates and styles that they sell for creating slide shows?

I don't buy styles from Photodex for, uh, obvious reasons.

Bill,
I have bought pre-made Styles from Barbara, Dale, Jennifer and other vendors. They work great and are super time savers.
You've hit on a wonderful way to raise money for the charity. You get to have fun making the shows and the charity benefits.
Good luck with your project. I bet you'll make them lots of money.

If I could find the right sort of template/style it would be great to save time and I will be looking again when I get some of the adjustments made that I have started on.

Unfortunately the site is not generating responses so I am either not getting the message across or perhaps there is not a market for what I am offering? Or how I am offering it?
Always welcome suggestions.

Re: Using PSP in WIX Website
Putting up a web site is often just the beginning. Whether it's for business or charity, marketing is important. Have you sent any kind of notifications about your web site and what it's for to those who might be interested? Can you find other web sites that might include links to yours?

Re: Using PSP in WIX Website
Much appreciate your interest Barbera,
What I have done so far:
1 Write ups in local press which have helped but that is only at the local level where I have done work before to support local efforts.
2 Write up from the charity which send out their magazine on the web and by post. Result only a few hits but no contact.
Really not sure how I might promote the site and the idea.

Re: Using PSP in WIX Website
Some suggestions for your web site: Embed the YouTube videos right on your site rather than sending people to YouTube's site where they can easily get distracted. Another is that reading white text on black is hard on the eyes, so you might look into perhaps using a different color background on which you could use black or very dark text. The buttons across the bottom don't seem to fit, the one of the right being cut in half. However, these are small things, the larger one being how to interest people in the charity, and that's where I'm totally lacking in ideas.

Bill,
There are so many smart people on this forum that I bet if you posted a thread entitled "Need Marketing Ideas" and a description of why you need them, you'd get lots of good responses. Also, how savvy are you on SEO? I'm definitely not one of them, but there are people here who know all about making a website show up on Google and other search engines.

Hi Bill,
You could use a different video format - MP4 - that Wix will work with. Proshow can output in that format.
