optimising for the web?
Hi everyone, Newbie here, been fiddling with PSG, trying to find a good way to prepare a slideshow for the web.
I have saved it as a .avi file, then uploaded to my host at Zenfolio, who then convert it to H264 mpeg4.
The quality is poor and nothing like the original slide show. any tips?
You can view it here:

thanks for any suggestions

Re: optimising for the web?
Hi Kevin,
Have you tried all the ready made settings and formats that are available in ProShow Gold?
Look in:
Publish > Publish Show > on the right side of the window
Choose either: For the Web
Or: Video Files > For Web or Device

Re: optimising for the web?
I tried to download the h264 mpeg4 plugin for PSG, the key they gave me clashes with the original program key, - they are mutually exclusive.
I was hoping to save the show as mpeg4 H264. I don't have unlimited bandwidth to experiment, even a 30 slide 3 minute video is around 200mb file size.

They have sent me a new key, that works. Back to more testing, i have been using 800x600 pixel size images, i might try with the full size originals.
Re: optimising for the web?
Kevin,
I'm glad that Photodex have sent you a new registration key that works for you.
The size of the picture doesn't have any influence on the size of the video file. It is only the resolution of the video itself that counts, and of course its duration.
You don't have to test things by uploading all the time.
You have the option to save the video on your computer first (look at the bottom of that window). In this way you can watch it, see if it's what you want, and then upload the file to the web by using your browser.

Re: optimising for the web?
Hmmm, well ive run some more tests, still a dramatic loss in quality in the video conversion.
Has anyone examples of a high quality video conversion i can look at?
