Digital Photoframe format

Postby judyfirth » Wed Feb 26, 2014 1:30 am

Hi there. I've searched for this topic but can only see some old posts. Does anyone have any luck with creating shows for Digital Frames. I don't have one of these digital photoframes to test out but I've been asked by several people lately who I've recently completed some slideshows to create a file to go on them. The files are large with around 4 songs so I'm guessing it won't be easy.

What is the best format to try ? I may have to cut them down but thought I'd ask first.

Thanks
Judy

I don't have any of those digital frames either.

But, if I were asked the same question, I'd ask the person:

1. What brand and model of frame do they have?
2. Can they supply the device's documentation that lists file compatibility?

If they can supply the brand and model but not the documentation, try looking it up on the internet. Kodak, for instance, supplies a handy chart.

With so many brands and models available, it's a safe bet to check the brand information for the particular device to determine file compatibility. I'm guessing there are probably some that do not utilize audio.

Then create output for the file format that will allegedly run on the device.

You may have to load the show onto the device for the customer to make it work as I'm also guessing some people will not know how to transfer the show file from you to a thumb drive or SD card to put into the frame. Some devices can utilize Wifi for the transfer. So factor in how much time it will take you to do that for them to make it work if you're charging for your time, etc.

Others in the forum may have something else to add to those thoughts.

Thanks for replying Debbie. I'll check with them first.
