Getting latest release

Postby hcajones » Wed Nov 06, 2013 9:32 pm

According to this web site, the latest release of PSG is version 5.0.3310. My version is 5.0.3297. I can find a place in Tools to "upgrade," which just takes me to a place to buy PSG, but I don't see any way to just update the version. Is there a way?

Thanks.

If you go to their main site

http://www.photodex.com/proshow/gold

You can select to buy ... and there's an upgrade pricing option there.

However, the changes between these releases are extremely minor. You might want to hold off until the next release and upgrade then ... unless you have a compelling reason to upgrade. It's anyone's guess when the next upgrade would be but... I'd hazard a guess that it's likely to occur within a year of the last release (which should be around the Mar 2014 timeframe. However, that's just a WAG. It might be sooner ... possibly later (I'm guessing sooner than later tho...). We're all keeping our fingers crossed on this one.

Sounds like good advice. Many programs let you apply the minor updates as they come along at no cost and only charge when the next big version change comes out. Apparently Proshow does it another way, so I'll wait for the next big change.

Thanks again.

Proshow gives you a year of free updates from your purchase date - even if that is a major release. There are a number of places that do it that way - the C compiler for the PIC processor chips I use does it that way as well basically. If you go to Photodex and login to your account, you can see what products you own as well as links to download the latest version you are entitled to. Go to http://www.photodex.com/help/your_products
