Show on a DVD

Postby chriscat » Fri Dec 14, 2012 12:43 pm

Hi Everyone , Happy Christmas to you all !!

What i am wondering is this :-
I created a slideshow for out daughter when she was 30 , i started from when she was born to now .
I used the pal setting as we are in europe , however i think she will be moving to New York and i am not sure the DVD will work there .
I also have a copy of the DVD but not on my computer as i created shows i always delete them .
I know i can copy the disc but that doesn't solve the problem of the dvd being in pal , in America they use Seacom ,so i think the dvd won't work , when i created it i did use PC excutable but am not sure if it will work on that either .
Has anyone any ideas on this ?

Here is a link to a fairly comprehensive set of instructions using various programs to convert PAL to NTSC.

You may find this useful, without reading the technicalities quoted at the beginning.

Hi Brian ,

Thanks for your reply , wow there is a lot to it !!!
This is one to sit down and read and read , i noticed that some comments say that some dvd recorders will play both pal and secom , so i will have to get her to have a try and fingers crossed it will work !.
I think this will be a day or two job to do .
Thanks again for the info i am amazed it can be done .

Regards

Here in the UK, which is a PAL country, most DVD players will play NTSC as well as PAL.

If your daughter has a player that will also play PAL, that is the easy way out :P

I am sure that the conversion is not as bad as it looks, they seem to have gone into a great deal detail. I must admit I just Googled 'PAL to NTSC conversion', I have not tried it
