What is the Highest Resolution Format for iTunes Import

I noticed that ProShow supports 12 video output formats. What is the best way to import a PSG into iTunes? I did a numberr of DVD slideshows in the past. Now I have an 27" iMac and I can view those DVDs and import them into iTunes with the help of Handbrake. But I wonder if I can output the shows (I still have them, all files assembled, on my old Dell) in a higher resolution format which can be easily imported in iTunes.
