HP Deskjet 9800

Postby nannybear » Mon Jan 28, 2008 4:06 pm

I have been so frustrated with this printer that I almost boxed it up and sent it back. It wanted me to turn off any other USB hardware, the firewall and of course I unplug from the net if I do that. Took for ever to print out big projects and refused to print a borderless PSD greeting card in the right place. Well yesterday morning I asked my guides for help and pretty much decided if it wasn't going to do what I wanted back it would go. Something made me try printing the file from the HP Photo and Imaging Gallery software instead of Adobe and VOILA!!! works like a charm, I am printing 13 x 19 photos and they are quick and look fabulous. The greeting cards look awesome. So if you have this printer and are having problems give this a try. You have to save your project as a tif but who cares. Cheers Jan

PS to Mike Gregg - I printed out the clownfish pic you took and put " I swam it My Way" on it and it looks great. Everybody gets a chuckle.....

Jan,

Thanks for the info ....I just purchased the Epson r2400 ...... although I haven't hooked it up yet. Waiting for my new monitor before I try printing anything. I hope it sets up easily and I don't have any problems printing ......

Bob:

The R2400 is an awesome printer! I love mine! I find the prints to be really good with no fiddling required. I use Epson papers and use the profiles installed with the printer. The larger prints are fantastic!

Enjoy!
