FreeLance Websites For Supplemental Income

Postby seektheburd » Mon Jan 14, 2008 3:37 pm

Hello Proshow friends,
I was wondering if others here on the fourm use any of the freelance websites to supplement their income using Producer/Photoshop? And if so, which websites? There's a ton of them listed via Google.

Hugs, Stephanie

Excuse my ignorance, but I'm not sure what you mean  by freelance websites.

Thanks
Robyn

Hi Robyn,
I was surfing the net and came across websites such as Elance, Odesk, and related where clients can outsource projects to graphic designers, photographers, writers. I was just wandering if others on the forum used these sites or if it is best to steer clear of them.

Have you seen the quotes for the work? Electricity and Computers have reached the 3rd world countries and 2nd teir countries as well. They will do an entire application for $100 (which should take 20-40 hours to build). Basically they will work for $3-$8/hr. Americans can't compete at those rates. Places like Elance, you also have to pay for the priviledge of bidding on a contract too. If you live in one of these countries where $5/hr is a good wage, then your set and you'll do well out there.

Hi Rkligman,
Nope, I didn't delve that far into the Websites. Yes, yes, I know I should have. You answered my question. Thank you!
