here is the post link but I have also pasted content so you know what it is about....cheers Jan

ps Use the digital juice post link as the one in what I pasted doesn't work......

Thought there might be a few people interested in this

quote:

"Techsmith, the guys who make Camtasia Studio and other
cool stuff are currently running a promotion of their
latest version of Camtasia Studio (Version 5).
They are running a couple of promotions in PC magazines
such as PC Plus (December edition) where they are giving
away Camtasia Studio 3 completely for free.
Why?
They hope that you will upgrade from version 3 to version
5 for the special offer price of $149.
So, how do you get your free Camtasia Studio 3?
Just follow these steps…
1. Download the free trial version of Camtasia Studio 3
at:
http://download.techsmith.com/camtasiaf.exe (no affil.)
2. Go to this promotion page, complete your name, country
and e-mail address and Techsmith will send you the software
key to unlock the program.
http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia/pcpls.asp (no affil.)
3. Just install the program you downloaded from step 1 above
and then enter the software key you receive from Techsmith
and you'll have a fully working version of Camtasia Studio 3
on your PC.
4. (Optional) You can upgrade to Camtasia Studio 5 if you
want to for just $149. That's a savings of $150 over the
full price of $299.
Don't worry though, if you don't upgrade to version 5,
your Camtasia Studio 3 will still continue to work.
I have both versions and Camtasia Studio 3 is still a very
solid piece of software to produce cool screen recordings.
It'll do most of the things you need to do as an Internet
Marketer.
Version 5 has been updated to provide some more features
including a wider range of options for distributing your
content, e.g. via iPod, Mp3 files, etc.
I hope you find this tip useful.

This is a brilliant offer

Postby trulytango » Fri Nov 23, 2007 1:00 am

Hi there

Camtasia Studio 3 was a pricey bit of software when I first started using it around 2 years ago... so I am more than a little shocked to see it now offered for free? First, folks like myself were hoodwinked by Photodex into buying their bug-laden Producer at an inflated price and now Techsmith seem to be doing something similar... only there is a big difference - Camtasia Studio is an extremely reliable professional product, creative and easy to understand - it lends itself to all sorts of different uses.

GO GET IT WHILE YOU CAN!

I noticed the mention of PowerPoint which I neither have nor want, but after that, there was no mention of it. Am I assuming correctly that I could record whatever I want and then render it to a number of the different formats mentioned?

I'm not sure I'll actually use the software, but it's a deal that's really hard to pass up.

Barbara

P.S. Jan, your first link didn't come out quite right in your copy-and-paste.

Barbara, it is a screen recorder application. It can record the full screen or the part you designate for it to record. It will also record your voice as well. This is a link to the documention page for Version 4 but I am sure 3 does most of that. Pretty interesting what it can accomplish.

I copied and pasted the original message but couldn't get that to work as it goes straight to a download mode. That is why I put the DJ Forum link to use..

Jan, I've downloaded it, I've gotten my key, and I've also downloaded all pertinent PDFs from the page you linked to. Just what I needed: yet another piece of software to learn.

Jan (Nannybear),

Thanks for sharing this free Camtasia info. The .exe file download link did not work for me so I did a google search and came up with this link:

http://download.techsmith.com/camtasiastudio/enu/312/camtasiaf.exe

I hope it is correct since the download from this link worked but I did not have time to install it yet. The link to get the unlock key did work fine.

Thanks again for sharing,
Mike S.

Don't forget to download their menu templates, effects (for adding text callout boxes, etc), and hundreds of PowerPoint backgrounds that you can integrate into Camtasia. You can download them from:

Maybe too advanced for me a beginner

Postby Penny47 » Sat Nov 24, 2007 11:36 am

Just wanted to thank you for all this info. I have downloaded it but have yet to install. I am just wondering if it may not be too advanced for a beginner like me who can barely use Photoshop. :-)
