How do I trim video clips, please?

Postby Lavina Molnar » Fri Jun 01, 2007 1:29 am

No, I don't have a video camera! Recently I've been playing about with the movie clips in my Minolta. Problem is, when I try to trim clips - and I'm pretty sure I've been doing the right things - whenever I attempt to trim a clip the darned thing just reverts to leaving me with the first frame of the clip. Any ideas please?
Thanks

Hi Lavina,

Assuming you have trimmed the clip correctly, the only thing I can think of is did you click OK.? I just dropped a
clip onto the timeline and trimmed it without any problems.

You can use Windows Movie Maker to trim a clip.

Hi Brenda

Thanks for the tip to use Windows Movie Maker. Looks like I've got it sussed out :D. Think my problem was that all my clips were saved as .mov files which W.M.M. wouldn't look at, so I made copies and saved as .avi and it does look as if I'm on the right road now! It was W. picture & fax viewer that persisted in coming up when I opened the mov. files, and it was that that was causing me to lose all the clip except the first frame.

Thank you so much - I owe you one.

Cheers
Lavina
