Forum claims I haven't been here in over a year!

Postby BarbaraC » Sat May 23, 2015 12:49 pm

Just by chance, I glanced at the upper right and noticed, "Last visit was: Wed Oct 16, 2013." Funny, but I'm sure I've shown up periodically and have posted off and on rather recently, like just this morning, for instance.

Perhaps "I think, therefore I am" no longer holds water.

The "Last visit was" only updates if you log out of the forum. Then you have to log back in right away and it resets the date.

Apparently you haven't left here for 2 years. You must be pretty rank by now

I've mentioned this to Mike more than once. I think it's a bug, Mike says it's not. But I log out about once every 7-10 days so I can see just the new posts since my "Last visit"

Maybe it was your evil clone that has been here all along?? Along with mine of course - my "last visit" was Wed Oct 16, 2013 :D

Hmmm, you both have the same Last visit date. Could that be the day new forum software was introduced?

Interesting. I never log out because the upshot is that I have to log back in, neither of which accomplish a thing. If I look at a new post and then come back later, that post doesn't show up as a new one. Joe, doesn't that happen for you?

Mikey, you and I are living in the past.

I have my bookmark set to newposts only. When I click on the bookmark this is typical of what I see:

http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h196/ ... ew_Joe.jpg (this is just part of the page)

In this case my last visit, or log in, was May 18th. New posts have the little red arrow but if I don't view it, they start sliding down the page so new posts are not necessarily all at the top. If I do view a new post it stays on the page but the red arrow goes away so I end up with what you see. So what is shown is ALL posts from the last log in, not just new posts.

With my method, any forum that has something new since my last visit is shown in red. Clicking on that forum, everything new is shown in red. I read what I want and then click the link to mark everything as having been read. A long time ago, I tried the method you use, but it simply didn't fit my brain patterns. :D

There is no date whatsoever posted next to "last visited" in my profile. LOL I wonder what that's supposed to mean.

It would work if "Last visit was" worked and actually showed the last time you visited. Maybe I'll try your method.

If we could turn that clock back to the 50's, we'd be able to buy gas and food really cheap. Then we could click out of the forum and be way ahead of the game.

Oct 29, 2013 for me. I wondered if it was the same on a different computer - it is. It's also the same with a different browser, even though I had to log in with the different browser.

Go forward a bit in time and use the profits to buy stock in Apple.

But really, there are days I'd be satisfied with cheaper food and gas. Oh, and none of those disgusting, depressing drug commercials on TV for conditions most of us don't have but may end up being talked into.
