I hate Firefox 29 !
I am not following the Firefox development anymore, I just install all the new versions automatically, as they come.
So the new interface took me completely by surprise, and I hate it ! Hate it !!!!
Why change something good to something bad?
BTW, this new interface is called "Australis"

Re: I hate Firefox 29 !
I haven't been notified of the update yet.
What's the problem with it if I may ask? I'm kinda worried, if you hate it, that can't be good

Re: I hate Firefox 29 !
Hi Joe,
It has a new look. Everything is in a different place than what we are used to.
But, in the meantime, I've found an add-on named 'Classic Theme Restorer"
It didn't restore everything to what it used to be, but it's a big improvement.
It made things bearable.

Re: I hate Firefox 29 !
Mona . . . I'm with you. I also installed FF 29.0 thinking that this was another improvement, but I absolutely hated it when I saw what it looked like.
After checking out the Classic Theme restorer solution I opted to re-install FF 28.0 using this "uninstall tool" http://www.crystalidea.com/uninstall-firefox
Now everything is working good once again

Re: I hate Firefox 29 !
You are right, the Classic Theme Restorer doesn't do the best of jobs.
I thought of going back to a previous version too, but then I thought that in the future, I won't be able to benefit from all the security updates that they might issue. Not having an updated browser is not such a good idea. Look what happened to IE.

If they get enough complaints about the layout maybe they'll at least offer an official alternative.
It seems to have worked for Windows 8.

From the articles that I've read, it seems that the opinions are equally divided between those who like it, and those who hate it. So, I don't know if they'll offer any alternative.
As to Windows 8, that's another thing that I'm trying to stay away from, for as long as I can.
Re: I hate Firefox 29 !
I'm another one not impressed with 29 - it just got installed over night along with the windows updates that rebooted the system. Science lurches on ...

I like that!!
I still haven't been notified of the 29 update. Maybe I have auto update turned off . . . . .wouldn't that be a shame
Windows 8? I still have XP on my old Dell 8300 that I still refer to about once every 3-4 months. And I'm very happy with my W7 Pro 64 on this machine.

Re: I hate Firefox 29 !
For the past couple of days, I've forgotten to turn my computer off and was still using version 28. As I was on it today, I noticed Firefox downloaded the update. I think as soon as I close the browser (or reboot) and reopen it will automatically install 29. O_o
Re: I hate Firefox 29 !
I bit the bullet and closed my browser, then reopened. It updated but I don't see it being all that different except the color/tone of the extra tabs that are open. They are nearly invisible as well as the "+" button. Those tabs need more contrast to the text to see them better. Any icons I want on the toolbar could be dragged via the customize toolbar area.
I would like to change the color of the other open tabs though as I can't see the "+" button well enough to click on it when I want to open a new tab. Is there a way to change the colors?

Re: I hate Firefox 29 !
Hi Debbie,
I guess that the amount of change that we see in ver. 29, pretty much depends on the amount of custumization that we made previously.
As to colors, I use an add-on named "Colorful Tabs" (I've had it for ages), that gives a different color to each new opened tab.
It's been updated already for ver. 29, and it works well.
