What is this font?

Postby SandyB » Mon Oct 14, 2013 4:00 pm

Here's a question for the font experts - I'm guessing Barbara has this one in her collection.
What's your best guess for the "St. Peter's Church" font?

Thank you,

Hi Sandy,

I took the page into Word and the text in the body of the site says it's Palatino Linotype on my computer. But it's not the same font as the banner at the top. The banner text is embedded in with the image at the top.

Thanks Debbie! I'm counting on some ProShow Enthusiast to recognize this font.
Happy Fall!

Try to clip the webpage image down a bit and then use this site:

It might work for you ... maybe!

According to the Dale's website the font should be Felice Black

Felice Black capital "S" does not look at all like the one in the banner which has rounded ends, not pointed ones.

Asking the webmaster would be the accurate bet.

Closer, but nope... The apostrophe is straight on that font and the one on the banner is curved.

Sandy, I have way too many fonts to be able to spot precisely what this one is! But I'm wondering why you want that specific font. Is the one on that page used as a logo and you need to match it? (Just curious.)

Barbara - yes! Thought I would match it if I could. Not a requirement.
And since you're the queen of fonts, is there one you would suggest?

I found a couple in my collection that are close--Bookman Old Style and Chaparral Pro. Both would need to be in bold, I think, plus and outline.

I found a font called Vaccine Regular. It's also close but not a perfect match. Here's a rendition using the approximate gradient and background used for the original.

Image

It's a commercial font but the Regular style is free where the other styles are not. Oh, and it's an OTF font, not TTF, if that matters.
