Passing of Bart Busick

Postby smunited » Tue Mar 05, 2013 4:14 pm

I wanted to let people know why a regular contributor to the site hasn’t been around. Some of you may know that Bart has been battling cancer. I received a message from his loving wife Beth that he passed away last night surrounded by many people who loved him.

A few years ago I posted a show to this site, it had way too many transitions and slide styles, and I wasn't ready for the critique. Bart took a chance and sent me a private message. He really said a lot of the same things that the others said, but he started it by saying that he could see the kernel of something special... that I shouldn't give up. Slowly over the years he has mentored me by watching my shows, pages and pages of detailed instructions on how to achieve something I was trying to do. I will always try to pay forward the gift he gave me by sharing encouragement, help, or hope to my fellow creative friends.

Bart, every show I do has your hands all over it, even if you don’t see it. Thank you… Sandra McMartin

I came here from having been searching all over the place, trying to find out how Bart was doing, and I spotted this thread instantly.

Bart was a good friend to all of us, never afraid to tell the truth no matter how good or bad it might be. I think we all trusted him, all truly liked him. There's an empty place that he once filled.

Sandra, Thank you for letting us know about Bart. I too had looked through the forum posts and at his web site for news. When I saw he had not posted to either place since last fall, I was afraid the news was not good.
He will be missed.

Very sorry to hear that - I had been in regular email contact with him although I had not heard from him for several weeks. Very sad - he was a very nice person to know.

I heard of this through Sandra earlier today and was very sad to know he had passed. He was extremely kind to me and others here and even though he had major health issues, he never complained, never whined and always encouraged everyone else and had a crazy fun sense of humor to boot.

Bart, you will be missed,
May the angels take care of you,
Maggie
