Free Online Font Converter

Postby ginger » Fri Jan 11, 2013 10:06 am

For anyone trying to use a font not supported by ProShow, here's a little online tool that will convert .otf (OpenType) and other types of fonts to TrueType.

Have you tried it and does it work well? If so, I'll add it to my "Resources" page.

Barbara,

Only tried it on one so far and it worked well. It was a small caps font called Tymes Little Caps. It wasn't until I went to use it in ProShow that I realized it wasn't a TrueType font. The converter seemed to do its job.

I'll check to see if I have any OTF fonts and run some tests. If it works each time I try it, I'll add the link to Resources. ProShow's inability to read those fonts has irritated more than just a few of us.

Thanks for posting the link, Ginger.

I checked it out, and not on just the OTF format. I have a slew of Adobe fonts that I love but that Windows 7 does not like in the least. The little converter made fast work of changing the little lovelies into TTF's. It's a winner.

Thank you all over again!

Barbara,

Good to hear it works well with Adobe fonts. I have a few of those, but haven't gotten around to converting them yet. Thanks for running some additional tests.

Quetzal and Jean-Paul,

I'm so glad you found it useful. It will be nice to be able to use all of our fonts in our shows.

Happy New Year to all,

ginger
