End of the World

Postby cherub » Thu Dec 20, 2012 2:32 pm

It's past midnight now here, so, practically, we are now on December 21st.
This is how Google's page looks like now:

The image is entitled: "End of the Mayan calendar".

What do you think that will happen ? :D

While I'm not overly concerned about the "END", I am concerned about what some of the wacko's may do. I just had to renew my contractor badge for work, so I guess I will be around for a while longer  Maybe I should have waited until Saturday to take the dog into the vet's office instead of today - would have saved me $200 if the world ends tomorrow (somehow, I don't think she appreciated the fact I just spent more money on her though ... ).

Well... since you and those around you are still here Mona, doesn't look like it will be much different of a day than yesterday or today was.

I feel sorry for the those who packed their belongings to climb up some mountain top and wait, for what I don't know. LOL

The best one I have seen so far is on Facebook and said "NASA has confirmed that on December 21, 2012, in the late afternoon, the sky will darken. It's a phenomenon known as "night time"

It's morning now, and I can confirm that although we had a rather stormy night, with strong winds and rain, I can still see glimpses of the sun through the clouds.
So, the sun is still in its place. :D :D

I will write again at midnight, to let you know if "Tomorrow is another day" :D

The owner of my son's local hangout is having a Post-apocalyptic Soiree tomorrow night.

Barbara, that's a good one. Is the "Post-apocalyptic Soiree" your own coinage? :D

G'day all

It's almost 6pm on the 22nd here in the land down under and we're all still here. Its actually a new begining here especially for our niece who we've just help move in to her first home. Although I think I'm getting to old for removalist work almost nodded off in front of the computer. It would have been a little dissapointing for my niece if it had all ended as some predicted.

Merry Christmas to all.

Not mine. The owner of the place is good at naming "events," not to mention attracting customers.

We get to a certain age when we'd rather everything fell apart around us than move. :D

That cat with its "evocative" face has been one of the most useful across the internet. This particular use is perfect.

Apparently seen by too many - the image (without the image) has a line that reads "this photo is currently unavailable" - must have scared him away

Well, we're still here and a new crop of bills have arrived, so all is normal
I was hoping maybe the scammer/spammers would get got, but no such luck - got one of those calls on my cell phone yesterday morning at 6 AM claiming to be from Microsoft telling me my windows files were infected and I needed to let them "help" me. Yeah right.

I get at least one cell call a day from a scammer. Thus, I never answer the phone unless I recognize the number, and that amounts to only husband and son. Anyone else gets to leave a message. No message? Apparently unimportant or illegal.

Yes, we a targeted doomsday for very specific groups of people.
