help for email received

Postby chezeury » Mon Oct 01, 2012 7:44 pm

Hi, I received an email from a member called ozphoto. He sent me an email and not a site message. the return address seems to be admin@proshowenthusiasts.com but when I come here and try to reply to this person, even though I put the name in the address form, it keeps telling me that I have to put a name there. I'm not sure how to correspond with this person.

If someone knows him (Mark) could they get in touch withhim and tell him to send me a site message instead so I can reply. I'd really appreciate the help

You could try sending him a pm.

memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=11699

I just looked up the member name ozphoto and found it. There is an option to send a pm in the member's info page.

To send a pm, it also requires a subject else it won't go through. Also if your sent box is full it may not go through either. Not sure what else to suggest.

Replying to his email through your email program will reach his normal email address. It won't be sent to this forum.
I think that the automatic email that you received from admin@proshowenthusiasts..com includes an explanatory note about this.

Thank you, I hadn't realized that it would forward to him. I've been busy tonight and I guess I scanned the email too quickly.

Yeah, if you look at the actual headers on the email, you will see that it shows as "from" Proshow Admin, but the "Reply to" address (which is what you get if you just hit "reply" has the actual address of the sender. confused me the first time I saw it too :D

Hi, yeah, I found that out after. I guess it was the indication of admin@prosh... in the email that threw me off. I should have known better. I've written him back now so all's well that ends well, I guess. :-)

Thanks,
Maggie
