Military Wives UK
UK members and possibly others will be aware of a TV series last year about the forming of a number of choirs made up of wives and girlfriends of military personnel serving overseas in armed conflicts, predominantly Afghanistan.
The series culminated in the release of a single that became the Christmas No. 1 here. This week they released their first album 'In My Dreams' and if you enjoy choral singing of popular music I'm sure you'll love it. I bought the CD, it arrived this morning and listening to it I felt I had to bring it to wider attention.
The title track has been made into a video that you can see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLf76_zOL2M and to me it conveys the sort of feeling we often strive for in our slide/video shows. It's very touching.
If you'd like to know more about this go to http://www.garethmalone.com/cd and there is a Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/MilitaryWivesChoir. The Amazon UK site also has a lot of info on it. After posting this I also found a video with some background info at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gN_MshJrs3Q
I have no connection with any of it. I saw the series and enjoyed it. I heard the title track, found the video and loved it, so bought the CD.
Enjoy
