Re: Statistics

Here's a year ending total. Keep in mind that some of the numbers are skewed because I deleted a lot of accounts that were over one year old and had never posted. This caused a pretty good sized reduction in active memberships, but will also be a little more accurate as to the activity.

2009 Year Ending Stats:

432,065
unique visits - 1 visit equals total time spent at the forum, not for each page clicked on during the session
617.33GB of bandwidth used
121 hosted "Member Created Files" totaling 422MB of storage space
348.52GB of bandwidth used solely for the purpose of members downloading "Member Created Files"
Average 1,100+ unique visitors per day - Unique visitor is determined by IP. Some members may be visiting from multiple IPs
20% of all visitors stay at the forum an average of 13 minutes per session
6,852 registered members
Approximately 3,096 members have posted at least one message
100 members have "donated" in support of the forum - Thanks!
12 members have "donated" more than once - Thanks again!

And, just to dive a little into the request about about the most viewed post, well ..., here it is:

Now, if I could only get that many views on announcements, rules, etc.

Mike, Thank for all your efforts and time.

To All Members; based on these statistics, I think we need to start a FORUM DONATION DRIVE. The amount you donate is not important; just donate - if this forum has helped you donate. If you are doing business or planning to do business it should be one of first things on to do list - donate.

It would be great to see at this time next year see the total members who have donated above 300+.

If you have not donated yet think how great it would be to see "Forum Donor" every time you post something.

Just my thoughts! If you agree, DONATE, if not, hit delete key.

Great idea. As I navigate through the Pay Pal screens, the first screen says this:
donation@proshowenthusiasts.com
but then this comes up after entering your payment information, before the verification screen. Is this Mike? Is it correct?
Address removed to avoid spam bots

...nevermind... I got it to work.
Thanks for a great forum Mike. I'll do this again when I get my business launched.

I have not donated but would like to. Is it rude (or maybe just stupid?) to ask what might be an appropriate amount?

$1,000,000 is a good place to start.

In all seriousness, any amount you choose that is within your comfort level is more than enough. I appreciate the support of all of the members, not just those that donate financially. As I've stated before, support comes in many forms with donations only being a small part. The helpful information that is freely provided is much more valuable to the forum. The funds keep things running, but without the knowledge and sharing that is provided there is no forum.

Thanks to everyone that has participated over the years!

Mike

I too want to say thanks so much to Mike and everyone here at the forum. I can't tell you how much I've learned and really grown to know you guys through your freely given knowledge and constant flow of information. I'm not a regular poster, but I am almost a daily visitor. Therefore, my donation is on the way. :)
Thanks again to Mike and everyone.

What's the supper-secret meaning behind the gold vs. the green star?

I've also noticed red and silver stars and a completely new star design.

The donor icons are based on a tier system. It's more for me to help keep track of things.
