BarbaraC's Frames
BarbaraC has released some wonderful frames on her website at http://www.theframelocker.com.
I downloaded the PastelSwirls Frame set and opened the frame-open.png file, and can't figure out how to add the photo to it.
I use Paint Shop Pro for editing.
Can someone describe the basic steps for me?
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks.

Re: BarbaraC's Frames
Hi,
Barbara's frames are exquisite, indeed !
I can help you with PainShop Pro. What is it that you want to do exactly?
Do you want to insert a picture in PaintShop Pro? or in Producer? or in Gold?

Re: BarbaraC's Frames
Hi Mona.
Thanks for the Response!
I would be using it in ProwShow Gold, but there may be times I'd want to add the photos into a scrapbook program, so I guess I'd need to work in PaintShop Pro first.
I'm considering picking up her Black Leather frame, but I want to make sure I know how things work first.

Re: BarbaraC's Frames
I'm not familiar with scrapbook programs, but here is what you need to do in PaintShop Pro:
Open your picture. Next Open the frame png (or psd) file that you got. You now have 2 opened files on your screen.
Go to Edit > Copy (this will place your picture in the memory of the computer (clipboard)
Close your picture now.
Go to Edit > Paste as New Layer
Watch the right side of your screen, where you see Layers.
You will see that you have the picture in the first layer and the frame is beneath.
Mark the layer with the frame and push it upwards (with the mouse) so that it is the first one, and your picture is underneath.
Now you can see what the frame is covering and it is not covering from your picture.
Make the necessary adjustments to your picture so it suits the frame (drag by the corners) With the Eraser tool you can erase the parts that stick out of the frame.
When you are satisfied with the results, you can Merge the two layers (Layers > Merge down, or Flatten All)save everything as jpg or any other format that you wish.
In Gold you do basically the same thing:
The frame must be your first layer and the picture the second layer (underneath). Make sure that the frame covers your picture and no margins stick out. (Play with the zoom to achieve this)
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response.
I was able to get the photo under the frame with the transparent area, but I can't figure out how to adjust the photo inside the cutout part.
I'll mess with it and see if I can figure it out.
I'll try inside Gold as well.
Thanks for the help!

In PaintShop Pro, on the very left side of the screen you have the tools. The second icon from top is either Pick or Move. Make sure that you are on the layer that is your picture, and with Move and your mouse, drag you picture across until you see the corner markers. Drag them until everything fits.
You can do the same with the frame.
Re: BarbaraC's Frames
That did it!
I needed to change to the Pick tool.
Thanks Mona!

Hi Barbara.
I just picked up your Black Leather frames.
I'll let you know how it goes.
They look great!
I normally do my shows in 16:9, so I'll have to see how the 4:3 files work.

Hi, Sam. Yes, I was just notified that you purchased the Black Leather set, which made me realize you must have gotten the answer about PaintShop Pro that you needed. It's one program I've never fiddled with at all, but I was sure you could get all the answers you needed right here on the forum, and sure enough, Mona pulled through for you.
Thank you for your purchase!

Merlin,
I haven't made a real show with "Black Leather Frames" yet because I'm having too much fun with Barbara's "Mosaic", but I did fool around with it a little bit. If you want to see the results:

Anna, I'm pulling a "Chrissy" and am jumping up and down! So far, the only shows I've seen using my products are my own, so you've just now made me one very happy camper.
Is that T-bird by any chance that I saw framed?

So many great ideas--I just wish I was a little more creative.
My shows don't look anything like that...
Re: BarbaraC's Frames
Please forgive my ignorance, but I've learned how to put a photo behind one of the "open" frames.
What are the "close" and "outline" frames for?
How are they used?
Thanks.

Barbara,
I'm glad the Black Leather Frame show pleased you, and yes, that is my buddy, my pal, the inimitable T-Bird.
