Problems sending problem reports in 3.1.2018 ??

Postby gpsmikey » Fri Oct 26, 2007 8:41 pm

Anybody else used the problem report sending feature in 2018 ?
When I do, I get a very strange error message - fill in the information
requested and click send. It immediately pops up a dialog box with
a title bar "Windows - No Disk" and some exception numbers displayed
(looks like it is a Visual C++ app). If I click "Cancel" a couple of times,
it then goes ahead (or says it does anyway) and gathers data and
sends the report. I have no idea what disk it is looking for !!
Anybody else seen this ?? (yes, I did try un-installing it, disabling the
antivirus and re-installing. Exactly the same response.

You can't have too many gadgets or too much disk space !!

From Photodex, this is probably a feature and not a bug. ;-)

I fix them -- I'll send them a free copy of Norton to install on their systems

Yes, Mikey, it's a special Photodex feature like the frosty Mr. Tarafrost suggests. Winners of their contests have to use that problem-report upload feature to upload the large-scale version of their show. I tried to do it several times, receiving the same error messages as you, and then I finally managed to get the thing going. It took three full hours to upload. Later on when talking with the person in charge of the contests, I told her about it, but she seemed unimpressed. I'd say their problem report has a problem that gives us a problem. Bronx cheer to all of it.

Mikey,

I'm not have the identical problem as you described but I do have a problem with sending a problem report... I fill out the "form" have Producer go through the motions of collection the information and then nothing... never send anything... so I was I figure I'll just do it again.... I opened up the "form" and blamo... it starts uploading.... if I close the "new" form then it stops.... just stays at whatever percent complete it had reached.... open up another new form and blamo again.. it starts up.... can't explain it but it did finally send (have not clue as to whether Photodex has actually received it... time will tell there)....

(just as an aside I've been have lots of quirky problems with 2018... I think I've submitted 4 or 5 issues so far in the past three days.... oh fun...

Take care,

.

Bob - assuming you provided a valid email address in the problem report form,
you should receive a confirmation from Photodex -- at least I did - it took several
hours or so if I remember, but I did get a confirmation they had received the
report (it was an automated type response).

Mikey,

No sooner then I posted I received the confirmation.... now we'll see if they can answer...

So far most of my problems I get the same advice delete all the usual files, try again... if all else doesn't work reinstall... if it still does not work "we are updating the documentation to call it a feature"... (ha ha)....

Thanks for your response!!
