Sound File causing writing issues.?

Postby kjohnsenwi » Mon Sep 10, 2007 7:00 pm

I've been trying to cut a DVD of one of my shows and it keeps failing (after ruining the DVDs, of course). I do have a seven second MP3 sound file that occurs about 1/2 way through this 5 minute video and while it plays fine, I'm wondering if that could be causing the problem.

How can I check whether that file is corrupt in some way or is actually the reason I'm having trouble? Thanks for any advice!

Frustrated,
Kelly

Well, couple of things to try -- try removing the mp3 and see if it still
has issues.

- try importing the mp3 into some other sound editor etc and
convert it to a different format (wav for example).

What I would suggest is instead of burning to DVD, create an ISO
instead (it is on the drive select menu). If that completes OK, then
you can use something like my favorite, the free "imgburn" (excellent
utility) and you should not see any problems.

You might also try experimenting on R/W media (you don't
need to format it first) ... saves on "coaster creation" until you
get this worked out.

Totally agree with Mikey. ImageBurn is the way to go and its free. Works much faster that Photodex also.
