video clip won't render onto a dvd i'm making with psp

Postby rbrown920 » Sun Aug 19, 2007 12:58 pm

I'm trying to render a video with pro show producer. I have several video clips in it, but one in particular comes out with a black screen. it isn't rendering. i've deleted it and reentered it, i've moved it, can't do anything to get it rendered onto the dvd. it is a .mov file taken with my panasonic digital camera.
please help!!

The usual problem is a corrupt video file. Does it render if this file is left out completely?

You can sometimes correct a corrupt file by loading into a video editor and outputting in another format, say avi, and if necessary converting back again.

A key question here -- have you been able to put other
clips in from that camera ?? If no, it almost sounds like
a codec issue although I thought producer usually told
you it couldn't find the codec. If other clips from that same
camera work fine, then, as Brian says, I would suspect a
corrupt video file. Depending on what utilities you have
on your system, you can try playing it in one of them and
saving it in a different format -- see if converting it allows
it to be imported. The big key here though is have you
been able to use other clips from that same camera ?

You can't have too many gadgets or too much disk space !!

One more thought: Are the other video clips also .mov files? Sometimes mixing video formats can cause a problem. Also if the problem clip is the only .mov file it could be that PSP is not recognizing the codec for it.
