help with SHOW NOT UPLOADING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Postby HunnyB » Fri Aug 17, 2007 8:21 am

Okay guys, I have followed all the instructions and everytime I
try to upload a show to the Photodex website ---- IT STALLS.
I open my show:
>Create>Share Show On Line
It stalls and NEVER goes pass 0% when connecting to psuploads.photodex.com

One show is 5.88 MB
the other one is 14.96 MB.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??????

Your firewall is probably blocking it.
There is another way to share a show: Make first a web show and save it as a .px file on your computer. Then go to the site to your account and upload what you just created.

Okay, I did all that.
Still won't work.
Now says "Done with error on page".
Nothing shows up in my share show folder.
Oh my.....always something.

If it doesn't get past 0%, it almost sounds like your have the
account name/password wrong (I don't remember just what
the error message is for that). Try going to the sharing site,
make sure you can log in with your account and password
(type them in so YOU know you have them right) then go
back into producer and at the upload point, make sure you have
the same ones there. I have had cases where something
got screwed up and the password or account name was either
wrong or somehow blank. Many "error messages" are somewhat
LESS than helpful in identifying the problem.

Reminds me of the original startrek game written in Altair Basic
that you talked to with a TTY --- "a thingie blocks you at sector 23"

I will try again, but if my memory serves me right,
I have done all that.
I NEED SOME WINE.

It still sounds like it is being blocked -- I just tried uploading
a 3 meg show I had it it went through without a problem in
less than a minute and played fine from there so it looks like
their end is OK (at least from my network connection).

Are you running ZoneAlarm or anything like that ?? Usually,
it will be configured to ask if a new program tries to go out,
but I have had it somehow not pop up the question bubble
when a new version of something tries to connect (which could
well be the case if you have installed a new version of Producer
recently - I don't know offhand if Producer itself does the connect
or if it calls some other utility it has burried somewhere).

More wine ?? We have some particularly nice blackberry wine
that is vanishing fast :D

Let's see -- the next ferry leaves Vancouver at ... :D

As far as the upload goes, one other thing we could try
if nothing else seems to work, is you could set your
upload account with a temp password and let me upload
something to it just to make sure it will accept a file. I don't
think that is where the problem is, but it is another check
(I still think we are going to find either something on your
end blocking it like ZoneAlarm or some sort of network issue,
but if you can log into your account at Photodex, that somewhat
clears the network). Sometimes you find the problem by
finding everything that it isn't

Postby HunnyB » Fri Aug 17, 2007 2:05 pm

14.96 megs???????????????
Isn't that way too big?
But the other show I am trying to upload is just 3.58

Your show that is about DJ --- it says it is 100 MB - and I cannot load it.
Ummmmmm.
All these problems could be on my end.
It is so frustrating when the main thing I want to do on line and on my computer, won't work right!!!!!!
Don't know whether I need to add memory, or do a system restore and start over.
Sounds like I have something loaded that is interferring with MY FUN.

Wine at your house would, I AM POSITIVE, be loads of fun.
That is why a live chat between all us "ProShow Enthusiasts"
would be just as fun --- and do'able.

I am going to post something about this. See what suggestions come up.
Could we meet at the DJ chat room?
Anyway, I was just so anxious and READY to post a show for advice...................................
Maybe one day.

The DJ one is really big. You just need to let it sit there an load for awhile then go away do something til the music kicks. Wine at my house if fun and I have a hot tub! Talk to you later.....hugs Jan
