not able to close disc
hi all....come across a problem,no software been installed at all,all other software updated..i burnt off a DVD disc of a test show on 2 DVD disc...the problem i am having is right at the end of burning the show....it flashes up in red text...waiting for disc to do the write in and out....or something like that....well it just sits there doing nothing...the light on the dvd writer is on.....but its like it stalls at that point.....any ideas anyone...why it wont close the disc??
Not off hand, (probably the term you are seeing is "lead in and lead out").
Try creating an ISO and use imgburn (FREE) to burn it and see how that
works. I have not heard of a burner going bad where it can't burn the
leadin/leadout, but that is a possibility. See what happens with the ISO -> imgburn
method and we can go from there. (that is the way I always do it - I don't
think I have ever burned a DVD from Proshow - I have seen too many
people with problems - the ISO also has other advantages too !! )

You can't have too many gadgets or too much disk space !!

I have this problem from time to time.
I just close the show, sometime re-start the puter, and try again.
It will usually work for a few days after that.....

The quick answer is "Tuesday" -- while there are some real junk
disks out there, finding the "best" can be very complicated since
there seems to be a combination of the media, which burner you
are using (different burners seem to like different brands etc).
You might want to check out this thread where we stir the muddy
water up a bit ...

My personal favorite has been the Taiyo Yuden 8x Premium -R
(I have yet to have a failure in several hundred+ disks), however
others have had good results with other brands as well.
