For the "silence" - yes, suprising how well that works for stuff.
Most audio editors have somewhere on the menu an option to
insert x seconds of silence. Video editors have an option to
insert x seconds of black or whatever. You know what they
say --- "Silence is Golden .. " :D

Have fun with that credit card !! I am taking the engine in my
wife's car apart today - what a fun job (pulled it out of the
car last night). Some people really know how to have a good
time !! :?

Yes...You have it correct...Several ways to do it...I usually will record with the microphone turned off....Save that as a song and add to a show to "play" when the avi is on...
