Brian will probably answer this for you but as for the discs I use a re writable until I am happy with the product. Saves me having coasters.... Cheers Jan

As a thought.....

Have you gone over the settings on your tv?

On ours we can change the display to either 16:9 or 4:3

Be sure to use "Fit to frame" or "Fit to safe zone" and not "Fill frame" or "Fill safe zone". The photos should maintain the correct aspect ratio with these settings.

Barbara has given the answer I would have given.

Although you have a 16:9 TV remember your camera is shooting in, probably, 4:3 still (say 1600x1200 pixels for a 2Mp). Therefore your picture in a 'fit to frame' will have black bars at left and right. If you want to fill the screen without distortion the pictures will have to be cropped in a 16:9 ratio.

One of the big advantages of 16:9 is placing two portrait pictures side by side and cross fading.

My camera has a 16:9 widescreen setting.
This helps alot.
