Posting or Responding on the Sample show group?

Postby RoseW » Tue Feb 25, 2014 6:53 am

I cannot see a link on the Sample Shows group for starting a new thread or responding to an existing thread.
Last night I used the General Discussion and this morning I see the post was moved to the Sample Shows so I'm interpreting that Sample Shows is a monitored group.
BUT I cannot find a 'respond' link to reply to any follow up comments.

I did read the FAQ for the Samples group.

You need to send a PM to the moderator requesting posting permission in that section.

PM= Private Message?
Moderator= ?? is that the AGAdmin ?

Requesting permission is not expressed in the Samples FAQ
Might be a thought to include the procedure

Now before I submitting I see Debbie has posted info which I'll check out.

Well....obviously I skipped over that intro paragraph and focused on the 'rules'...
So I have sent a message using the PM.
New acronym learned this morning also. I didn't translate PM to be private message <lol>

Eventually I will be able to respond to the two people who added comments <grin>

Rose, I'm forever trying to figure out what people are talking about, what with all the acronyms and abbreviations. There will come a time in the future when there will no longer be any real words. :shock: :D

PM = after 12 noon
PM = prime minister
PM = post mortem
PM = private message
...and probably a bunch of other stuff too.

I had just put "PM" because I intended to scurry off and find the thread where that was all discussed, however, Debbie beat me to it (she must have already finished her morning coffee :D ) It all got pieced together anyway :lol: (PM can also be "Preventative maintenance" too - like blow the dust and cat hair out of your computer periodically before it melts down)

I give up!!!

I tried sending the moderator a PM twice - 2 days ago - not sure it was sent. Checked my outbox - sent box - nada!

I have noticed that some people when having the same problem post it they post it somewhere else and it is magically moved to the Sample Show forum.

Is this acceptable?????

You must be doing something wrong in the process. Please be sure you have addressed the PM to "MG - Admin". When submitting the message be sure to wait until the message is confirmed as being sent before navigating from the page.

No, this is not the way to properly post. You'll still need to contact me.

Thank you. I tried sending a PM but get a "The requested users to be added do not exist. Found where I could send you an email - did that and it worked (I think!)

A user's forum name appears over their avatar and is hot linked to their profile. Hovering over that will show the option for contacting that person via PM or email, if they have those functions turned on. Some people may have one or more of those options turned off (inactive). In that case, those options will not appear. But either way, clicking on the member's forum name will take you to their profile page.
