HELP! Memorial show due, computer crashing at rendering
I am begging for help with this. Have the latest ProShow Producer. Making a memorial show for tomorrow so need help please!
During rendering, computer shut down. Booted back up and tried again and during rendering, did this again. I have never had this problem during rendering, only a few issues in past when past that point.
What can I do???
Any help is appreciated.

Re: HELP! Memorial show due, computer crashing at rendering
The rendering was stopping around a certain point 64-75% and so I took that last half of the show and saved as new show and tried to render just that. It rendered fine.
Not sure what else to do. My time is running out.
Please help!

Re: HELP! Memorial show due, computer crashing at rendering
What is at that point? It may be a style or even (surprisingly) a layer transition. It's possible it's an image (but not as probable). Delete the PXC file for the show (it's in the same folder as the PSH file).
If it keeps it up, try deleting the proshow.PHD file and/or the proshow.CFG file (located in the installation folder). These are probably not the problem ... but, you never know. I'm betting it's one or more problems on a particular slide ... especially if it reliably dies at the same point.

Dale, first 2 times it shut computer down around same slide so I took off the slide style. That was at 70% rendering. Kept trying and it would shut down from 65% to 75%. Put the part of the show that was stopping rendering into a new show and it rendered fine. Have now deleted the PhD and cfg & same thing. Now trying deleting pxc, cfg & phd. CRAP!!! Did it again at s little different point. I want to cry. Any other ideas please.
Re: HELP! Memorial show due, computer crashing at rendering
Do you have an animated gif in any of your slides ?
I know that some animated gif files cause this kind of trouble.
If you cannot find the problem, there is no other way but to try to exclude things, one by one.
Try replacing the audio (maybe convert it to a different format)
Try taking out video clips, if you have any.
Are you using transitions based on video ? Try replacing those...
Just a few ideas.

Re: HELP! Memorial show due, computer crashing at rendering
Well, it's not the slide style you deleted. Oh, you ARE working on a COPY of the show right now right? That way you don't accidentally kill the show....
I would tend to think it's a problem just a bit further down the line ... if not slide 22 then maybe slide 23. Remember, it could be as simple as a layer transition (been there, done that). I've been in this situation before.
You may have to remove chunks and then put them back in one at a time. Or test the chunk (multiple slides) to see if they render.

PS Ditto what Mona said.

Re: HELP! Memorial show due, computer crashing at rendering
No videos or gifs. I have been searching all past rendering posts. Is it possible I need to shut off computer for a while since might be overheated?
Re: HELP! Memorial show due, computer crashing at rendering
You might try shutting down for a while, why not.
But, do you have enough space on your hard drive?
I'm assuming that you are rendering to iso, so two large things are being added to your computer: the iso file itself and the psdata directory with all the videos.
BTW, how long is your show (in minutes) ?

Re: HELP! Memorial show due, computer crashing at rendering
Show is 43 minutes with about 450 slides. I have now shut my computer down & just cried since this is the show my friends dad wanted to see before he died. He went downhill this week and passed yesterday so they scrambled to finish getting me rest of pics. I have so much time on this and they want for visitation Friday. I am just sick!
Re: HELP! Memorial show due, computer crashing at rendering
Just checked hard drive and 70gb left. I was really hoping that was it
Re: HELP! Memorial show due, computer crashing at rendering
What kind of transitions do you have in that show?
I asked you before but you haven't answered.
Try to replace all the transitions with A/B just to test.

Re: HELP! Memorial show due, computer crashing at rendering
I just had another idea
What kind of menu have you built for that DVD?
If you chose to show slides (video), replace that with static images.

Re: HELP! Memorial show due, computer crashing at rendering
All A B except about 6 starburst ones. Trying one more time. Worst case, can I take my computer to viewing and somehow show it?
Re: HELP! Memorial show due, computer crashing at rendering
OMG, it's a miracle! After shutting down computer, maybe it needed a rest and it eorked! Bless you for putting up with me and all your help. Maybe there was a little divine intervention also!
Re: HELP! Memorial show due, computer crashing at rendering
I'll go with the "divine innervation"
