False-positive about a full disk?

Postby BarbaraC » Sat Jun 01, 2013 4:46 am

I just now experienced this, and thought you'd appreciate a heads-up:

As you may already know, if you make any kind of change to a folder's name anywhere but inside ProShow, ProShow's folder list won't reflect the change.

You're most likely to experience problems with the lack of refresh if you change a folder's name in an unnoticeable way. For instance, I had an extra space in a folder name and deleted the space in Windows Explorer. When I went into Producer and tried to copy files to that folder, I didn't notice the extra space still sitting in the folder name. Result? Producer told me the "the disk may be full." It believed its own out-of-date folder list. I had to force it to refresh.

It's bad enough that we have have to guide Producer into refreshing, but then to get an error message completely unrelated to the real problem? Unacceptable. And yes, I've reported my displeasure to Photodex.

So just remember that some error messages are, themselves, errors.
