Sample shows not playing

Postby LEE7 » Fri Sep 14, 2007 2:42 pm

Hi

When I tried opening sample shows I just got the red cross in corner of the square, then found out I neeeded Presenter.

Downloaded Presenter, installed it, but still won`t open shows.

OS is XP professional, with service pack 2. XP2400 processor, 1GB ram.

Any ideas, please.

Regards.

Peter

Well, my first guess would be either your antivirus or firewall is
getting you. couple of things you can try - if you have previously
saved any shows from anyone to your local hard drive (the
showname.px file), try double clicking on one of them. If you
don't have any shows saved to your hard drive, try creating one
from within Proshow -- create a simple show if you don't have
one to test then click the "Web Show" button. It will take you
through a menu or two and then give you the option via a
dialog box of saving a "presenter stream" or something like
that - save that to a known location (my favorite is to forget
where I saved it ... ). You should end up with a showname.px
file. Try double clicking that and see if presenter will play it.
If it does, we are back to looking at the firewall as prime
suspect (or zonealarm if you have it/ Norton "protect me from myself"
or whatever you have on the system).

Give that a shot and let us know what happens and what works.

Thank You Mikey

Allowed Presenter thru firewall, still not showing, beep to indicate fault.

Wife pointed out to Me, look for yellow bar at top of window, clicked on that, installed direct x plug in for presenter, & away we go..........

Regards.

Glad to hear it. As I suspected, something was blocking the transfer through
from the outside. That was why I had suggested seeing if you could play
shows local to the hard drive.
