I would suspect that the free Audacity would do it, but why do
you want to convert other files to that format ?? In general,
PSG will import a number of different audio formats (look in
the manual for a list of the formats). MP3, wav etc are all
supported and can be dropped on the music track. It is good
to have an audio editor so you can modify portions of a clip
you want to use (boost an area, clip a chunk out etc) and
if you don't have one, you might check out Audacity (it is FREE).

Have tried copying to CD, and ripping to MP3...still no go. I also was able to convert it to an ogg file, but it sill won't work? I am frustrated to say the least....

Are you trying to drag-and-drop them from another explorer
window or from within the window in PSG ?? Apparently, sometime
in the past, you were able to drag and drop from another window
(I have never done it, but have heard others say they could).
What kind of error message do you get ?? I know if I try and drag
a picture onto the music track (not paying close attention), I get
an "invalid format" message (or if I try to drop a music onto the
slide track). If you double click the sound-track, you should get
a window to add sound. Click the "+" button, browse to a music
clip and click the play button "->" - it should play the clip. Does
that work that way?

Just for the sake of entertainment, exit Proshow, and delete the
pxc file for the show you are working on (NOT the psh file) then
restart Proshow (it will take it a minute to rebuild the pxc file).

Initially the download from Walmart wouldn't work because program said it was an unsupported format.

I downloaded a program called audacity, and was able to save songs as ogg vorbis? Icon is exactly like purple icon in PSG, and extension is ogg, but when I drop it into show the icon is merely a vertical line. When I hit play I hear a loud click, but no music.... Saved it as MP3...will not work either.

I wanted to copy and past these files to this forum, but evidently that's not possible

Could Vista be the problem? There must be an easy way to download, and use in PSG?

Hmmm

I wonder if it is anything to do with the DRM  that stops you being able to transfer it to another format?

I know little about DRM, but the wma files on Walmart are protected by DRM.

I don't think this is a Vista issue (but I don't have Vista - still
running XP). Can you play those files in anything else (like
windows media player?). In general, I can drop wav, mp3
etc files on my timeline with no issues at all.

You didn't answer the question I asked about if you open the
import sound dialog box (double click the sound track on the
timeline) and browse that way to a song, can you play it from
there ??.

Have you been able to imports stuff in the past ? If yes, what
did you do between when it worked and now ? (what did you
install, what utilities did you run etc?).

One thing you can also try is uninstall PSG then re-install it again.
That has been known to fix a number of strange things.

Believe it is the DRM issue...any way around that? Like the idea of downloading one song at a time for the price of 88 cents. Hope someone can help..I hate to spend close to forty dollars for three CDs when I only want a song from each.

FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT....

It works when you burn the songs to a CD. Someone mentioned it earlier, and I think I tried to add them to the show directly from the CD, as opposed to having PSG add them. In other words I did not click on the Add music from CD section. What a relief....thanks everyone for helping. You're appreicated very much.....

Highly recommend Wal Mart downloads one song at a time for 88 cents...
