Music does not end when video finishes

I hope someone can help with a problem that I have not encountered before in previous shows.

When I preview the show within Proshow Gold v6 everything is fine. The music fades at the last slide.

However, after I publish a video (an AVI file ready for publishing on the internet) and play that on the PC, I experience the problem. The pictures and music are in sync but once the show reaches the last slide the music does not fade but continues over black.

Am I doing anything obviously wrong and what I can I do to rectify the problem?
