Music in Gold version 6 not playing

I upgraded from version 5 to version 6 today and the music sound track would not play in version 6.
I also tried to create a new show in version 6 using the music I purchased from iTunes and it came back with error of unsupported file. The file is .m4a

The best way to troubleshoot this kind of problem is to send a problem report to Photodex.
In this way they can see the exact audio file, and any other settings in your show that may cause issues.

Music files bought on iTunes or other business-oriented market places are protected files that can't be used in an audiovisual production, this is the reason why you have this message.

The .m4a file format is on the ProShow supported file list. So I'm not sure why it's not working. Some time ago, iTunes file format didn't work in ProShow. But it looks like it's supposed to work now. I would contact Photodex and ask them if someone else doesn't have a better solution for you here.

Thanks for the reply. I did send the info to Photodex and waiting for their reply. the .m4a audio file has always worked in v5

I just tried downloading a free one from iTunes "something about December" then dropping that m4a in a test show of mine and it worked just fine. Something you might want to try - the database file for Proshow may have gotten corrupted. Go to the install directory (where you installed Proshow), locate the proshow.phd file and delete it. Now start Proshow - it will rebuild that file. See if that solves the problem.
