No Playback Sound

Is there a solution to fix the "no playback sound" issue?

Ever since I downloaded the 4.01 upgrade to my 4.0 for Windows 7, I cannot get sound to play back when testing the slideshow. It is frustrating because I want to edit it and I can't.

When I save and upload the slideshow to Youtube, the sound is there.

I can also hear sound whenever I am on another program so it's not my speakers or sound card.

First when you said 'the 4.01 upgrade" are you referring to PSG's version? The current version of PSG is 4.51.3003.

By the sounds of it, there might be a Win7 permissions issue here. Are you logged on as an administrator when running the program?

They told me to log in as an administrator and I've been trying to figure out how to do that all day. I can't find anything that will tell me how to do that, can you please offer a suggestion?

Depending on your operating system, there are ways of just running the 'Proshow' program as administrator.

They are all similar to 'Method 3' near the top of this page http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/vi ... ileges.htm , which is for Vista.

If you want detailed instructions, let us know if you are on W7, Vista or XP.

Thank you. I will give this a try this weekend. Sorry I didn't get back here sooner, my dd was sick and we had an ice storm that played havoc on internet connection.
