The Lighthouse Keeper

Postby alcain » Fri Aug 17, 2007 12:48 pm

OK folks. Someone made a comment that "Al" may not like "all the transitions" that were in a particular show
Sooooo, I have made a little show proving that I LOVE transitions. In fact I tried to use as many as I possibly
could (while maintaining my dignity, of course)! :D
I went "transition" crazy

Seroiusly, I do preach "less is more" when it comes to transitions, but this little show proves that they can add a lot of fun to a silly show...

Enjoy!

Al,

Some time ago I made a show called "Transitions" ...... using many of the Photodex transitions. I think when used properly and the timing is right, they very well can enhance a show.

Singing Al

Postby alcain » Fri Aug 17, 2007 2:11 pm

Hey, just because I only have one eye, doesn't mean I can't sing! How did you know that was me singing? I tried so hard to disguise my voice.
I really don't want to marry a lighthouse keeper, but what boy has not dreamed of finding a beautiful mermaid sitting on the rocks beside a lighthouse! I was always a good swimmer as a boy! Trivia question: Does anybody remember how this song came to be popular? ~al

Al-

Fun Show! I noticed the transitions, but only because you pointed them out. Otherwise, probably not. Were you holding your nose while singing? Sure sounded like it. I, too, have never heard that song. Sounds like you are "Dating" yourself.

Good job.

I Want To Marry A Lighthouse Keeper Lyrics By Eigen Erika

Lighthouse Keeper is a song that Erica wrote and Terry sang backup on it and played the piano.
They recorded their one and only album Sound of Sunforest in 1969.
Stanley Kubrick liked the song so much he used it in his 1971 classic, "A Clockwork Orange".

I want to marry a lighthouse keeper
And keep him company.
I want to marry a lighthouse keeper
And live by the side of the sea.
I'll polish his lamp by the light of day
So ships at night can find their way.
I want to marry a lighthouse keeper
Won't that be okay!
We'll take walks along the moonlight bay
Maybe find a treasure too.
I'd love living in a light house,
HOW 'BOUT YOU?
The dream of living in a lighthouse baby, every single day.
The dream of living in a lighthouse,
the white one by the bay.
So if you want to make my dreams come true,
You'll be a lighthouse keeper too.
We could live in a lighthouse
The white one by the bay,hey hey.
Won't that be okay.
Yada tada ta ta ta.

Although it does sound like a 1020's song, it really is not that old. So as far as me "dating" myself - 1969 really was one of my favorite years!

1969 - I was 13 going on 14. The Federal Bank Examiner's daughter who lived next door, bought a brand new 1969 Mustang that year. I was so in love... (Not with the Bank Examiner's daughter - but her car! ...she was pretty hot too, but Mmmmm what a car!) I bought a 1969 Mustang the day I turned 18 after working nearly two years to save up enough money to pay cash for it. Burgundy with black interior and a 302V8 with a three speed shifter on the floor. I can, to this day, remember how she felt driving home the day I bought her (the car, not the examiners daughter)... In 1969 I was a Boy Scout, a ship model expert, and deathly afraid of girls. I'm not so afraid of them now, but I had to be "trained" by my wife to learn how to keep out of trouble with them. Mostly I learned to say, "Yes honey, right away dear..." It must work because we have been married over 31 years now. Ahhhh 1969...

I was a senior in high school in 1969. I wanted a mustang too. Had to wait a couple years to get one., Mach 1 Boss 429. 8) Ten gallons per mile. Finally ended up literly shearing the universal joint by laying too much rubber too many times.

We have a 75 3/4 ton Suburban we use for vacations -- load kids, dogs,
(well, dog now  ) and all our camping stuff. 454 with a Rochester Quad
on it. That thing will pass anything on the road except a gas station !!
(did 5200 miles in Alaska with it in 2001 -- I have got to get those pictures
scanned so I can make a show of them !! ).
