My first posted show

Postby Latimer » Fri Aug 03, 2007 6:48 am

I am a new member. I have worked on PSP for a few months for pleasure and I decided to show my last work. It is based on Secret Garden`s music and mostly on Valleyo`s art because music and fantasy are my other hobbies. If you like or do not like it, please comment.

:)
hi,
you went to a lot of trouble and though I can compliment you for the Fantasy that it takes to create such a show I certainly don't think that the titty girls are appropriate for general viewing. The *boys* here may feel different, but I say there is a place for everything and unless I just fail to see the art :?: I'd say it is a show not really fit for this forum.
But, and please do not be hurt, it is only my opinion and others will probably feel completely different, even if they do not post.

You are right Sigrid. This "art" is called erotic fantasy, but for me this is simply porno kitsch.
Latimer, there are better artists in this world and I'm sure your talent with Proshow will do them justice.

Certainly different, and while some don't like the skin, it certainly beats
what is on every channel of the TV --- who shot who, who raped who and
who Rosie O. is busy insulting now (can you tell I am REALLY tired of
what the media calls "headline news" these days ????? ).

While it is not typically my style, I wouldn't have a problem with
my 15 and 17 year old kids watching it either.

I personally don't have a problem with the art you displayed ...... I use similar artwork for my Auto Fantasies series. I would suggest in your posting that you mention "brief nudity" or something similar for those who would find this objectionable......... I liked the music and you did a nice job with the glowing walls and flames ........

Latimer,

My standard critique is as follows:
I think I would have put the music credits at the ending.
The music was appropriate for this show.
The art credits are fine at the beginning, maybe elaborate a bit on the art credit text.
The distortion of the images was a touch overdone and a bit too fast paced.
The nude images are appropriate for this style of show, but a disclaimer at the beginning would certainly be appropriate, since you posted this for general audience viewing. Then the viewers would not have the surprise images some mentioned.
The added lens flair is a nice touch.
You wrapped it up nicely - we knew the ending was approaching due to the repititionj of opening images - this is a superb way to end a show.
It isn't my 'cup of tea', but for those into fantasy imagery, this has great potential.
My main concern is the lack of a story. Just a wonderful melody put to fantasy images. If you could make this show somehow relate a "truth" have a "storyline", It would be on it's way to becoming a fantasy masterpiece.

Thank you for sharing, ~al

Latimer,
I didn't have any problem with the nudity, but agree about a warning. Sometimes my 7-year-old is watching shows with me and I don't know if he's ready for that.
Thought the music went well with the art. They both held my interest.

I did, however, have a couple of problems:
I found disturbing such a rapid change of perspective. Actually made me a little queasy by the end. How can I say this...I think the the visual should have been a little slower to allow the picturers to better dance to the music. Perhaps longer transitions and longer slide time would have allowed the pictures to better meld with each other and the music. All around less zooming and motion for the music, I guess.

Again, I did like the art and the music. A few tweaks and you've got a nice show.

Although the subject matter is not my cup of tea, I did watch the whole show. Agree the motion should be slowed down. I did like the opening and closing being in reverse. It felt that I was coming back to reality. I don't feel the need for a story...it's a fantasy and I don't edit my fantasies or require that they make sense. Enjoyed the music and thought it was fitting.
I would change the menu background. The tulips threw me.

If a show tells a story...if it evokes some emotion.....If a show causes the viewer to feel something,Anything at all........good or bad.
If a show is different then the normal?
is that a bad thing?
As an artist, it always amazes me how many different opinions there are.....some see it as art, some see it as trash.
Who then is correct?Does somebody need to be correct?

I think the several that gave comments on the tech.side of the show had some good things to say
Thanks for those comments......they are what helps us all to produce better shows

A disclaimer would have been nice

thanks for being different, thanks for posting the show

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One mans trash is another mans treasure. If we all saw things the same, good or bad, it would be a boring life to lead. I liked the art and music. For me it wouldn't have mattered if they were all clothed. I still like it. But that's just me.

Your description says "brief nudity" and i was expecting a nipple here or a butt on an image, but WOWSERS, that was a LONG brief. I guess I was thinking...oh some bikinis malfunctioned or some plumbers butt got into the show.

I should have read the posts of others watching it before viewing it, I'm not interested in erotic fantasy. I think you should state that on your description. I felt tricked ...not the right word ...something. Maybe the other ladies can understand.

You have every right to post that show, I firmly believe that. And I agree with everyone about the art being such a personal choice, and being able to critique it without judging.

But I think if there was ever a show that was "MATURE CONTENT" ..which is one option to choose when posting a show ...this one is it.

Geez I sound like the Church Lady!
Kay

Latimer dont be mad at me! I'll still look forward to your "general viewing" shows and witam (welcome) to the forum.

Kay - I second that!

Postby jeanc » Sat Aug 04, 2007 10:35 am

I whole heartedly agree with your comments and I definitely understand. And it definitely should have stated up front "Mature Content". My computer is in my living area BY CHOICE. My young grandchildren love to watch a lot of the shows posted here. Thankfully this was one that I didn't select to view when they were here. I agree with everything you have said. And true, by Latimer saying "brief nudity" I probably wouldn't have watched without checking. Brief nudity is one thing, but this to me was far from "brief".

No offense here either, but if there are any more like this, just kindly preface with the warning.

Thanks,
Jean
