Tutorial - Basic movement in flipping

Postby heitkamper » Fri Jun 29, 2007 7:11 am

I posted this in the Yahoo/Producer group and thought it might be of interest here. I have already heard from a couple of members that they are having the same problem viewing the Dice Effect as they had viewing the Carousel Effect. I will change those two shows over to mpg and load them on YouTube this week.

Here's the tutorial I promised on the Flip Flop effect. Actually it is a
tutorial on the basic "flipping" move. The Flip Flop effect is the
basic move repeated in different directions. At first this flipping
move may not seem like much, but it is the foundation on which half
of my special effects are built.

To see examples of how you can expand on this movement check out the
following effects. Some of them you have seen before. The Dice Effect
is new. I will try to work on tutorials for these effects as soon as
possible. Problem is, every time I start a tutorial I discover
another effect and I get side tracked.

Onward

Those are really wild, loved it! Do you think you will be creating any templates? Thanks for sharing your technique.

Colleen, I will posting tutorials on the different effects. Some of them work quite well as templates and others require too much tweaking to work as a drag and drop template. Due to other obligations I will not be able to get this out there right away.

this is fantastic! your tutorial was excellent.

I'm going to try all of these effects, I especially love the cutouts.

I cant imagine how much time it took to do that detail, but I really appreciate that you did. If you lived near us I think we'd grill you a great steak dinner and open our best bottle of wine to thank you!

I'll be looking for your tutorials!

What a "slick trick".Thanks for sharing this tutorial with us. I don't know how you do the screen shots but your tutorials are very clear and easy to follow.

Thanks for sharing these.

Hi Mike

I would also like to thank you for your tutorial - I found it just the right pace to really grasp what you were explaining. This is an effect I'm definitely going to try :)

For those having problems with their shows "hanging" when they
view it in presenter, see this thread for the solution (well for us anyway)

Thanks to Debbie for getting the answer to that one !!
