A pictorial ode to spring

Sat Mar 18, 2017 3:48 pm

To mark the arrival of spring in the Northern Hemisphere on March 20, I created a
short slideshow using photos I had taken on the last couple of spring seasons
here in my hometown.

 A Pictorial Ode to Spring
[with a sprinkling of poetry] :D

2min 55sec
Nothing that might be considered offensive/objectionable

Wishing you all an enjoyable spring season.

Hello Aida, YouTube has your video as 'officially deprecated'. Don

Aida, when you upload a video to YouTube, you must put a check-mark on "Allow Embedding".
Otherwise we cannot view it here in the forum, and we are directed to watch it on YouTube.

Thank you, Cherub, for the instructions. I went back to my video on YouTube & put a check mark
on "Allow Embedding." Hope this has fixed the problem.

It's been years since I last uploaded a slideshow to YouTube. Decided I would do so with this slideshow.
Also, this is my first attempt at embedding a video so that it can be watched right here in the forum.
I'm trying to exercise my aging brain by learning new tricks ...

Aida,

Looks like you're having a beautiful spring in your city. Ours started off great but was several weeks too early, and everything got 'bit' when the temps dropped well below freezing last week. You did a great job of showcasing your beautiful photos.

Hi Ginger, we also had an unusually cold winter here in our city -- thus the cherry trees lining
many of our streets haven't yet started to display their blossoms. It'll be another few weeks
before this happens. Thank you for taking the time to watch my slideshow & for your comment.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for taking the time to watch & comment on my slideshow showing last year's spring.
The city is Vancouver, in Western Canada. There are over 40 thousand cherry trees in the city.
They haven't yet burst into bloom this year -- not even the early bloomers -- due to the unusual
cold & snowy winter. Every year throughout April the city holds its Cherry Blossom Festival.

Dear Aida, thought I recognized a few pictures. I live out in the valley. I am waiting for spring to arrive. Has to be soon. Enjoyed your show. Sandra

Thank you, Rosemary, for taking the time to watch. Yes, spring is finally here -
a very wet one. I suppose it's the same in Nanaimo as it is here in Vancouver.

Sandra, happy to hear you enjoyed my show. Thanks for replying. You probably recognized the
view of the city seen from Queen Elizabeth Park, & the Kitsilano neighborhood with all the cherry trees
in full bloom [that was last year] . . . :D It's been a very wet early spring -- but the trees seem to like
all this incessant rain.

Thank you, quetzal. Spring has by now probably arrived in your beautiful Quebec City. By the
way, I'm looking forward to your slideshows of Quebec: will you be posting the links here
in the near future?
