YouTube Video Posts

There is now BB Code in your posting options that will allow you to embed YouTube videos into your posts. Simply click on one of the YouTube buttons and insert the URL for the show in between the brackets. Please note there are two different YouTube options. The HD option must be used if your show is in HD, and the other one will only play the "normal" quality video. The following codes are examples of what it should look like after you insert the URL for your show between the brackets:

HD Embedded Show:
Code:
[YouTubeHD]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JM1CtDPgQyA[/YouTubeHD]

Normal Quality Embedded Show:
Code:
[YouTube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JM1CtDPgQyA[/YouTube]

Sample HD Show:

Sample "normal" Show:

When posting YouTube shows, please continue to place them in the appropriate areas of the forum, such as "PSG - Sample Shows & Feedback" or "PSP - Sample Shows & Feedback". Tutorials done on YouTube are also welcome, but please make sure you place them in the appropriate areas as well. If you want to also include a link to the show at Photodex's site, please include the link in the same thread that contains your YouTube show. Do not create a second thread topic as it will be considered a duplicate post and will be deleted.

Please only include one show per post. I know, I have two above, but that is for illustrative purposes. Posts containing more than one show will be deleted. I need to do this to make sure the board performs up to the current standard.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Mike

This is great for the tutorial aspect. No more searching around, just click on the post and the vid would be there. Awesome idea Mike!! cheers Jan

Can we also please ask people to NOT to post the regular Photodex show link and the HD YouTube show link in different threads. Else this should be considered spamming the group for the purpose of hogging/monopolizing the first show page and lessens the variety of types of shows able be posted/viewed that are made by others. There is enough calculated monopolizing going on already - Ugh.

Also wonder why this announcement is only in Odds and Ends as it is related to sample shows area too.

Hello Mike / admin,

The [YouTube]https://youtu.be/7D7ks5mMIMs[/YouTube] in not working anymore???
I tried to use it at different places but now I am using the [url]
in : https://youtu.be/7D7ks5mMIMs

Question 2:
Is there a way to use here in the forum the html code target="_blank" to open a new window ??

Thanx

The BBCodes used to embed YouTube videos appears to work, but it looks like you have to include the full URL for the video you want to embed and not the shortened URL you referenced.

Code:
[YouTubeHD]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HxbSzD18tY[/YouTubeHD]

Code:
[YouTubeHD]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7D7ks5mMIMs[/YouTubeHD]

Adding the code to open in a new window is unfortunately something that can't be worked into the BBCode due to it's limitations. If the viewer clicks on the YouTube logo at the bottom of the video it will then open to a new tab on the YouTube site.

Hope this helps!

Mike
