ProShowThink speaks of fitting that screen
It's too bad my enormous chart of 4:3 and 16:9 ratios isn't in a computer file to share with all of you--it's on file-folder cardboard, which works best for me. It wasn't difficult, however, to choose typical numbers and post them in ProShowThink: Cropping for 4:3 and 16:9
If I ever decide to do the entire chart for computer, it'll be in Excel, and I'll share it with you. Don't hold your breath, though.

Many thanks Barbara.....printed & laminated and kept for future refeference. Holding my breath for the Excel version - I'm useless with formulas.

Re: ProShowThink speaks of fitting that screen
Alan, the truth is I'm unlikely to ever do it in Excel because it would be an incredibly tedious process, though I imagine there might be a way to plug in a formula so it's all calculated automatically. Maybe someone will take up the challenge!

Re: ProShowThink speaks of fitting that screen
Des Thomas did a stellar job of creating an Excel file in which you can plug in either height or width and it automatically calculates the other dimension for you in both 4:3 and 16:9 format. Because I was the last one to have my hands on the file, not Des, I requested it be posted in Member files, and I passed the file on to Mike, but I think he's been amongst the missing since that point. I figured, "Well, in the meantime, I can upload it to my web site so folks can download it from there." Right. My web host is having "issues" at the moment, but the moment they stop having said "issues," I'll upload it.
Des did an outstanding job. Wish you could see it.

UPDATE: My server is back up and running. Download the EXCEL file.

Re: ProShowThink speaks of fitting that screen
I had uploaded the document and thought I had posted for it, but maybe in my old age I messed it up. Either way, it's now up and available in the Member Created Files section of the forum. Sorry for the delay.

That's OK, Mike. Now there are two spots for it. If one doesn't do it, the other one will. In this case, both did.
