Golden Oldies - The Piano

Postby BarbaraC » Mon Dec 01, 2008 1:17 pm

Diana combined her huge creativity with her incredible control of masks and timing, ending up amusing all of us with a show that she posted here: http://www.proshowenthusiasts.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6126

Someday I hope to grow up and be just like Diana. :D

Barbara,
Thank you for "digging" that out. I am fairly new to this group and absolutely loved it.

Lynn, it's one of those shows that's not easy to forget. Diana is one very hot performer!

Barbara,
This is one of the shows I was going to look for and post for your challenge. I still can't figure out how she did that!

Since you've already spent the time searching, I'll just go on and eat the cookies anyway....but I'll be thinking of you and Dianna while I'm munching.

Has anyone tried replicating the masked piano keys?

You are NOT going to be let off that easily. No cookies without an attempt to rediscover something. Your cookies will be counted!

No, I've haven't seen anything like those piano keys since.

Anna,

I think you can find the source of that series of masking slides in the show thread. I seem to recall her sharing it but can't be sure of that without going back to the thread and reading it to look for it.

I too loved that effect and still haven't had a chance to use it myself but i was able to duplicate what looked a bit like some piano keys with the inserting of solid colors in a frame. It was a lot of work but I never made use of it.

NOTE: If you've never seen a particular show before and haven't, therefore, ever commented on it, honor the person who created it by commenting in the original thread.

Yes, this one's a classic for the Golden Oldies showcase. A perfect example of musical play and masking.

First of all, Barbara, I'm extremely flattered that one of my 'distractions' is on your 'favorites' list!

By coming into this post 'a day late & a dollar short,' some of my favorites are already listed (Barbara's "Chair" and Sandy's "France" is on the top of my list!!) but there are a lot listed here I don't think I've ever seen. I'm going to spend the day watching shows selected in these recent posts!

And, Debbie, I HAD sent this piano template with instructions on how to use it to Mike, but evidently they never made it in the Member Section!! (The piano graphic I re-did for the template was so much better than what I used in this original show!) Guess my email ended up somewhere in la-la land. I'll have to dig through & see if I still have that zip file archived somewhere & try sending it again. If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have realized it was never posted!

Great idea, Barbara, to have this 'blast from the past' topic!

The best thing of all, Diana, is what you mentioned: discovering shows somehow missed when they first appeared. I was sure I'd seen all the best of the best, but I was oh-so wrong.

Is this not better than trudging around doing what we're all really supposed to be doing?
