June 08 Challenge - Cary

Postby Cary » Wed Jun 18, 2008 1:27 pm

So what do you do when you need some time to relax after a long and painful morning in the Dentist’s Chair?

I decided to lay around and do nothing and just watch Television and wound up watching hours of old program re-runs from broadcast network days gone by.

Not wanting to just totally waste the entire day, I decided re-work some digital images that I took a while back in Rome to see if I could clean them up a bit in PhotoShop.

It was while I was working on an image from Rome of the Spanish Steps, that my inspiration for the June Challenge hit me!

Why not take the image of the Spanish Steps from Rome and combine it with one of the old TV Shows I had been watching?

So with all that said, here is my submission for the June Challenge: Roman & Martini’s Step-In

All apologies to Rowan and Martin and friends since they are the ones who actually wrote and performed this in the late 60’s.

Where in the world did you get the old NBC opening, the peacock one, gosh I remember that like it was yesterday, that voice!! his voice is so nostalgic! thank you very very much! Could you point me in the direction to obtaining the peacock opening?

In spite of having taken a day off from the world, you ended up being extremely creative. That was either a touch of genius or evil the way you picked out particular people to represent what was being said in the skit.

Very, very enjoyable!

Cary .. that was a hoot! I really miss those old shows. There's nothing like them on TV anymore unfortunately.... You did a great job bringing "Laugh-In" back in your show... very creative! I really enjoyed it! Loulou

Hi Cary

Brilliant idea in action

You hit on something very interesting there... take a soundtrack/voiceover and match it to a 'people shot'. I like that very much. Question? - I hate going to the dentist... will I be able to do something like this for myself without a shot of Novacaine

Nice work

Cary, very ingenious idea. Loved the show. It must have taken some searching to find all the narrative.

Cary ~
You must have had a great time putting this show together.
Looks like the perfect people for all the parts showed up right there on the steps.
What fun!
Good job!

Thank you all for the kind words.

I have to tell you it is a lot of fun to think about these monthly challenges and how we all approach them from different perspectives.

I look forward to the next one and how each us will interpret the challege concept.

Cheers!
