Hi George,

You have some beautiful photos. Nice music.

Only suggestions I have are that you might want to add a title to the show (on the menu/splash page) and it would be nice to have more background info. Where were the photos taken? It appears most were taken out-of-doors. And it would be nice to have some captions if you know the species.

The extreme closeup was impressive. We seldom get to see flowers like that.

Bob....Your right I should have put a title for the show ...sorry
Yes most of the photo's where taken outside with just straight lighting, nothing fancy.
I really should get a book on "flowers"so that I could find which specie they where.
I know that the "Lady slippers" where Yellow & showy :)

Mokummer: Thank you for your comments....
There is really no "secrets" I just get down on the ground and move in close..nothing fancy.
Hope Al forgives me....

Climax...Thank you !!!
Glad that you liked the show.I've seen some of your work and must say that you "have an eye" for photography, and that your work shows it !!!!

Regards
George

Really beautiful photos!

I'm brand new to photography. I bought a Nikon D60 a year or so ago, but then didn't have the time to learn how to use it until now, so could I ask a dumb question?

Is the focal blur seen in most of your photos applied in Photoshop or is that done with settings on your camera? By the way, what kind of camera (and accessories ... lens, tripod, etc) did you use for these photos?

Thanks again for sharing it with us. Really nice work!

Ginger: First...Thank you for looking at my show.
Second:...Their is no such thing as a "dumb question" as we are all here to learn from each other, and I will try to answer some of your questions.
All of the settings where from the camera (Canon 20D & 50D camera) I try not to do to much in "Photoshop elements"
other than tweak the colour or maybe a little sharpening.
For close up of the flowers I try to use F2.8 F4.5 or some other settings for a shallow DOF.

Try to use a tripod if the wind is a problem ( this causes a lot of pictures to be out of focus)
Just take your time and I'm sure you will get some nice pictures.Your D60 Nikon is a nice camera

Thanks George. I'm still trying to get my head around f-stops and aperture, etc. But hey, at least I knew that "DOF" meant Depth of Field. I just need to start experimenting more.

Thanks for providing that info. That gives me something to start with.

As Lawrence Welk would have said, "Won-a-ful, won-a-ful" Great photography. You must live in the midwest because I recognized all of the wildflowers! Jack-in-the Pulpits, Gentians, wood poppy, pink and yellow lady slippers, ox-eye daisey...where is spring!

Thanks for sharing - I loved it.

SherryJB..... :) Thank you for your comments.
I guess that I could have named some of the flowers in the show but to be honest with you I'm not one that can name them ,I just like taking them
The only ones that I can name would be the "lady slippers" "Daisys"....and of course the Jack -in -the Pulpit :)

Guess I should buy a book and do some research so that I could at least be informed

George

P.S. Oh and yes I can't wait for spring !! and I live in Northern Ontario so right know I'm under about 3 ft of snow :x

George,

I was away from Enthusiasts for months - and am glad to be back! I've just found your show and knew I was in for a treat - one of favourite photo subjects! I wasn't disappointed. I loved your show and the great music that accompanied your beautiful flowers. Some of your photographs are stunning, I admired your close-ups especially. Yes, it's nice to know the names of flowers, but at the end of the day what does it really matter when they are SO pretty?! Well done.
