Engagement Shoot with Canon 5D mkII
I just finished my second slideshow using the 5DmkII, including video clips and stills. Let me know what you think! Cheers!

Oh, and if you're interested in some of the background, I just wrote a short article about the filming and the post-production work here:

I am photographing with a Nikon D700, did your images look really blurry when you first loaded them into Proshow. I am using Producer and when I loaded my images into Producer for the first time, the images looked really blurred and out of focus. I thought that there was something wrong with my new camera. I finally remembered someone on here talking about having to go into Preferences and looking under Playback for a solution to the problem. I changed the Maximum Internal Rendering Resolution to 1400x900 which is the set resolution of my laptop and everything is looking great.

Thank you Becky and Chrissy! We actually the birth video to our new "Who Were Are Section" - I think it should be hit!

Really nice work. I haven't had time to play with the video on my 5D yet....

Thanks Deb (and for the nice comment on the blog!)

Reading your post on video in your blog made me remember I'll likely need video editing software rather than put these clips directly into Producer as you say because the editor doesn't really cut out anything from the clip. Sigh....
In a pinch, do you suppose Windows Movie Maker would do the trick until I can get around to deciding on which software I'd purchase and how to use it? I've used MM before to edit a candle flame video effect I made with an old p&s camera a couple of years ago which seemed to work out ok for me.

You can cut your video within ProShow by trimming it. What I think is important is to compress the raw .mov files before dropping them. Use Super. It works with ProShow, does a fine job and it's free.

I know how to edit video clips in Producer as I've used short clips before but just have not shot video with my 5DMII yet. The files are so huge that I would think some compression and editing before inserting would be better as you suggest. "Faux'" editing it in Producer doesn't reduce the size of the video file at all, just pretends to by way of where the user trims the ends off to shorten in the same way it does when editing the audio files.
I'm not familiar with "Super". Do you have a link?

I just did a quick Google search and no luck on Super. Contact ProShow and I'm sure they'll give yo the link (they sent it to me). Best, Steve

I did a google on "Super video compression " and found this:

Is that it? I hesitate to just jump on something that's free without checking it out first. Some of the "free" stuff out there also comes with free viruses too.

Yep, that's it Debbie. I know it looks dodgy but it works and more importantly, the codecs work with ProShow!
Thanks Deb!
